Otago Business School Dean's Award

Established in 2011, this scholarship provides support for top MBA applicants to study full-time towards their Otago MBA in New Zealand.


Eligibility

Applications are open to both domestic and international students who are:

  • Accepted and are enrolling full-time on the Otago MBA
  • Have attained a GMAT score in excess of 650 or have graduated with a GPA of A or have an exceptional and outstanding career history or a combination of all three
  • Are in receipt of no other scholarship (excluding industry support or a grant).

Application and selection process

Apply by ticking the appropriate boxes on the Otago MBA Application Form at the time as applying to programme or by completeting the MBA Award Application Form and returning the ication is made using theand can be done at the same time as applying for a place on the programme. In addition to a current resume which is required to apply for the Otago MBA, applicants for the Dean's Award must also attach a copy of their academic record or GMAT Official Score Report. The Dean of the School of Business shall consider the following factors in recommending the Award:

  • the applicant’s academic and business records
  • the advice, recommendation and ranking of the Director of Executive Programmes.

Financial

Either a full or part award may be granted.

  • Gold Award NZ $20,000 tuition fee subsidy
  • Silver Award NZ $15,000 tuition fee subsidy
  • Bronze Award NZ $10,000 tuition fee subsidy

If the recipient withdraws from the MBA programme all payments will cease and no money will be refunded to the student.


Tenure

The tenure of the award is for Year 1 of the MBA programme only and must be taken up at the commencement of the MBA programme. The award cannot be held concurrently with other scholarships or awards.
