Dr. Richard GreatbanksBMBA 511 Operational Excellence
MBA Academic Leader Richard is a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Management. He is also a Chartered Production Engineer, member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Richard was appointed Academic Leader in 2009 with specific responsibility for the MBA curriculum. Richard immigrated to New Zealand in 2005 prior to which he was Lecturer in Quality Management at Manchester Business School. Before moving to academia Richard held several managerial and technical positions within British Aerospace, latterly as production manager for Airbus wing structure components.

Julia RichardsonBMBA 503 Organisational Leadership
Julia earned her Ph.D. at Otago and is currently Professor of Organisational Behaviour at York University in Canada and Associate Professor at AOM. She has published widely in the areas of flexible work arrangements, career management and international human resources. In addition to teaching on the Otago MBA, Julia has international experience in both corporate and academic positions in Canada, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia.

Anindya SenBMBA 508 Investment and Global Financial MarketsBMBA 504 Statistics and Decision Tools
Anindya has a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago and is currently Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). Anindya's impressive industry experience as a merchant banker included roles at Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.

Richard HighamBMBA 509 Strategic Planning for International Markets
Richards area of expertise lies in the area of corporate strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and new venture management. Among many projects, he worked for nine years in a marketing and business planning department at Imperial Chemical Industries and was a Sloan Fellow at London Business School. In addition to publishing a New Zealand bestseller - the New Zealand Small Business Guide published by Penguin Books - Richard is a keen follower of many sports, and won a blue for Oxford in Rugby.

Stephen BairdBMBA 501 Business Law
Stephen has a background in Mathematics Education in New Zealand and overseas, ending up as a Senior Lecturer at the Dunedin College of Education. For some unfathomable reason he then turned to law and completed his law degree on a mostly part-time basis. He worked for some years in a commercial law post in the private sector before taking up an appointment as Senior Lecturer with responsibility for the undergraduate Business Law programme in the School of Business. He has taught on the Otago MBA for a number of years and greatly enjoys the diversity of backgrounds, talents - and typically strong views!
His leisure activities include family, reading, walking and music; especially jazz.

Paul HansenBMBA 505 Economics
Paul is an associate professor at Otago's Department of Economics. His research is mostly focused on methods and applications of decision-making - by individuals, businesses and government organisations. With friend Franz Ombler, Paul developed decision-making software 1000Minds which is patented in four countries, including the USA, and has received several national and international awards for innovation. In regard to teaching on the Otago MBA, he particularly enjoys the 'intimate' class atmosphere and getting to learn from the people in the class who, he hopes, learn something from him too!
