The full time Otago MBA programme comprises 9 months of on-campus study during Phase One of the programme. This is followed by a highly flexible Phase Two of electives, international exchange or distance learning through online media.
Phase Two can usually be completed in about 6-9 months. However, you can also choose to complete it at a highly intensive pace of 3 months or a more leisurely pace of 12 months. During this phase, there is also a business project of about 3 month full time effort.

Phase 1 lays the foundation for the MBA programme. During this period, students take up core subjects specially planned for them and live case studies in collaboration with the international business community. In addition to a academic training, activities which enhance career prospects and learning experiences are organised. These include career development programme, mentor programme, guest speakers, as well as networking and social events.
Phase 2 offers you choices and flexibility. Students can choose to continue this part of their MBA studies on-campus in Dunedin, go on international exchange or complete it anywhere in the world through online programme. Together these options offer an extensive range of specialisation to support your career aspiration.
Students who prefer to study on campus may choose any 3 specialisation electives run by the University of Otago Business School. Those who prefer to go on international exchange programme may choose from a list of about 20 business schools and students have a choice to study in a developed country or a fast growing economy - further enhancing values to those pursuing an international career.
