The Otago MBA Mentor Programme was launched for 2011 at the School of Business on Thursday 24 February.
The event was attended by students, their mentors, staff, alumni and guests from the Dunedin Business Community in the foyer of the department of Executive Programmes.
Organiser of the Mentor Programme, MBA Business Networks Manager, Trish Franklin said the event was "a warm and lively gathering."
Approximately 80 people gathered to celebrate this exciting new initiative for the Otago MBA – an initiative they believe signals the Programme's ongoing commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence. "This is only the second year we have run the Mentor Programme - our experience from last year confirmed our expectation that it adds value to the Otago MBA experience for students, to the University and to the local business community" said Franklin.
Mentors and students were introduced to each other at the function and conversations got off to a flying start. The first meetings will take place over the next two weeks to establish relationships that will last until mid November and beyond.
"We are look forward to the Mentor Programme being of mutual benefit and being a stimulating and enjoyable experience for all concerned" added Franklin.
